Dairy Day at Telford Report and Club Results
Late last year the club decided to send a team of cattle from our area down to Telford for the inaugural HUKI UK Dairy day on Wednesday 17th September.
The committee felt this would hopefully prove a real opportunity to promote cattle from our area and give members the chance to compete at a national show under the umbrella of Border and Lakeland.
What a fantastic decision this proved to be as the club sent 10 cows down to Telford and they all proved very worthy to be at this superb show. The club pulled together and the hard work and dedication of those looking after the animals gave us some excellent results for our members as well as a most enjoyable time for all those who travelled down for the day.
The members came away with a 2nd, 3rd, 4th and two 5th’s and the team event saw us placed a very respectable 5th overall. The club stand also won 3rd prize.
A big thank you must go to all who helped make this possible, Harrison and Hetherington, Tethera Vets, Carrs Agriculture and Dunglinson’s for their sponsorship towards the event and the show team especially Glyn Lucas who took responsibility for the whole event including the cattle – well done!
